Recipe of the Month: Full-Flavored Smoothies

Banana & Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients 1 cup frozen blueberry 1 cup frozen baby spinach 1 fresh banana (cut in slices) 1/4 cup of water Preparation 1. Place the water, blueberries, spinach, and banana in a blender or food processor and blend until just combined. 2. Check the consistency and add an additional drip of water if needed. Continue to blend until the mixture is smooth. Enjoy! Tip: If you’re not a fan of the spinach-y taste, add 1/4 cup of orange juice instead of water. The OJ brings out more of the blueberry flavor and hides the spinach well. Great smoothie for breakfast or snack.

Drink Your Greens Smoothie

Ingredients 1 banana 1 cup frozen pineapple 1 cup frozen peach 1 cup almond milk (preferably unsweetened) 3 cups kale, chopped Preparation 1. Pour almond milk into blender. 2. Chop or slice banana and kale. Add to blender. Blend for a few seconds. 3. Add pineapple & peaches to blender and blend on high until smooth. Feel free to add any of your favorite spices, like ginger, cayenne or lemon oil for an extra POP!

Tip: Remember you can typically make a smoothie or smoothie bowl with any fruits & veggies in your kitchen. You can garnish your masterpiece with basil leaves, oats or nuts. Get creative, have fun and be well.
